On June 25, the day before the AIA National Convention here in Chicago, AEC Cares is bringing together volunteers from the ArchitectureEngineeringConstruction community for a one-day “blitz build” event: projectChicago.
This year, the day-long event will be helping Metropolitan Family Services in the fight to change the lives of underprivileged infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Working with Reed Construction Data, the AIA and Hanley Wood, volunteers will renovate a tired, worn, 30-year-old former public school building and turn the facility into a bright, cheerful, fun place for the children to learn and play.
For more information and to register, go to http://aeccares.com. Spots are limited so sign up now!
For those who cannot participate on the build day but still want to be involved, volunteers are needed to help with demolition and prep for the new work. Opportunities are available for Saturday, June 14th and Saturday, June 21st. Please contact Tara Godfrey at Tara.Godfrey@reedbusiness.com to register for these days!
